Assalamualaikum my dear friends. The clock shows exactly 3:00 am as a moment before I was laying on my bed for half an hour turning around but couldn't sleep. I feel there is something which I can't figure it out, think about, see or even touch. Perhaps I was thinking about my academic, my future, my family, my grave and so on. Lately, I have been having this weird kind of feelings and I"m just out of ideas on what to do.
Then I tried to think about something I might missed somewhere. I feel sad. I asked for the reason. Here it is my pleasure to share with all of you why do we feel sad and what are the solution. I believe to tell others not to worry is easy than comforting ourselves. Isn't it?
The question is why are we sad ? Here I could probably share that as human, our life is colorful. There are times when we laugh. there are times when we cry, there are times when we smile and there are times when we feel sad. We feel sad because of problems, losing the one we love, financial problems, being far away from family, betrayals, dishonesty among friends and so on, but what I believe that make us sad are: continuously committing in sins, rarely read the holy book of Al - Quran, not praying on time or at all, talking nonsense/negative talks and so on. As human, I believe we can't make that into zero but what I believe is we can minimize it into a low level.
For example, take the analogy of a mirror, the one we are looking at our face daily. If we leave it like that without using it, without cleaning it, the dusts will accumulate on it day by day till you will not be able to see your face. The same situation is to our heart. When we do commit in sins and we do not repent, do not ask for forgiveness, I believe slowly the soft organ in our body will turn into the hardest organ ever he have in our body. It will turn into black and from there when we diverge from the true path that leads us to Jannah.
Here I would like to share a few steps to overcome it and enjoy the few seconds life before we return to Allah.
Step one: No human being is burden with trouble and difficulties they cannot bear
Yes this is very true. Allah will never put a load on our shoulder unless we can carry that. Remember dears, Allah never promised that life will be easy but do remember too that He promised to be with in every steps of your life, so be istiqamah (constants) in every effort of your life. If Jannah was cheap, I believe the sahabbah( friend of Prophet) will not simply sacrifice their time, energy, wealth and life for the sake of it. Whatever kind of tests that we received in our life, remember that Allah knows we are able to handle it, if not He will never put it on our shoulders.
Step two: Suffering purifies our humanness

Step two: Suffering purifies our humanness
Most of the time, when we have everything we want in our life, we always fly in the sky without looking down, we become arrogant, selfish and we forgot Who gave us all these? Still we are arrogant with Him. Being in difficulties purifies our humanness, to be come a better person, to appreciate and be grateful with what we have, to remember the less fortunate and always try to remember that Allah gives us everything and just in a blink of eyes He can take back all from us. Allah has mentioned in the holy Al Quran surah Ibrahim verse 7.
"And remember! your Lord caused to be declared (publicly): "If ye are grateful, I will add more (favors) unto you But if ye show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed."
When we are struck by difficult times, we started asking the most fundamental question such as "Why this is happening to me?", "Why me?", "Why do I exist in this world?", "What is the purpose of life". Here Allah wants to teach us to remember back what we have forgotten and what we have taken for granted.
Thirst attracts water. Thirst is a spiritual experience, it is good for the soul, and water is an experience of the body. In the same way, ease and happiness is good liked by the body and is welcomed, and hardships and difficulty are disliked by the body but are very good for the soul. It forces the soul to deal with the difficult questions of life. It helps us to grow as humans, to find and deal with our human frailness. And our human frailness helps us to find our inner most nature.

Step three: Three Pictures
The past has gone, the present is what you are and what you have and the future let it come by itself. Never chase it. We believe and we realize that time is short and as the Arabic proverb says that " time is a sword. If we do not cut it, it will cut us". If we continuously being in the same level/ state we will miss that our life is running and not waiting for us and when we realize about it, we will be deeply regret about it. One of the great scholars of Islam said, “There is only one day separating me and the Kings. As for the yesterday, their taste of it has vanished, and both they and I equally fear what tomorrow will bring. Thus, there is only today. What will today bring?”
Step four: Look at those below you
The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whenever you see someone better than you in wealth, face or figure, you should look at someone who is inferior to you in these respects” (Bukhari, Muslim). For example, when you are having a MacD for your lunch, consider and trust that your are lucky as most of the people are staring to have something to eat. If you have Adidas shoes on your feet, some just make bottles as their branded shoes. Forget about all these, if we have two hands, two legs, two eyes, two ears, a nose, a mouth and complete body figure, be grateful to Allah as some do not have what we have. So why do we still sad?
Step five: Turn to God in all situations
We all including myself, whenever we have problems we will automatically post in on our Facebook wall, letting the human to know that currently we are having this kind of problem but we forgot that Allah is always there. Human will not be able to settle it for you but Allah for sure does. I know, we want someone to hug us when we are sad but what will be much more best than having the hug of God. Take a few minutes at anytime, telling Him that you are really relying on Him and truly believe that He is the only one who can take away all the burdens, the difficulties and turn them into happiness, joys and easiness.
Don't hurt yourself with your past,
Don't distract yourself with your present and
Don't scare yourself with your future....
<what is in your fate will be yours>
Truly,
Janeman
